Finally

With all the computer problems I've had over the past few weeks I think I have reached some sort of  result after spending loads of time and loads of money.
Just because the computer had given up on me it did not mean that I had to call a halt to my photography. The wildlife seems in my garden seems to be on holiday, nothing much has been appearing on camera except Mum and Junior who rarely miss a night.  As for the kingfisher below  I know its not real but I haven't done colour for such a long time and as this was an early birthday present I thought it might brighten up the post a bit.

  2. For a second there I thought the Kingfisher was for real. Good to hear that your PC is normal. Unlike the world at large.

  3. So pleased to hear that you're sorted now, even if it was expensive and time-consuming, Mike. Yet another fabulous Fox image, and that Kingfisher sculpture is delightful.

    Best wishes - - - Richard

    1. I am not sure that it was worth the money yet, only time will tell. A new set up takes time to adjust to. Thanks Richard, stay safe, Mike.

  6. Hi Mike,
Good news you are back on line, these pc's are wonderful when they work but as soon as we have a problem it's a disaster as a blogger, love the Kingfisher, a belated Happy Birthday.
    You sat safe.

  7. Hi Mike
I always see the foxes in almost the same places, wherever there is delicious food, they always like to come back ...
    Greetings Frank

    1. Hi Frank, Yes, they are creatures of habit, following the same paths arriving at roughly the same time each evening. This heatwave has put them off. Like the hedgehogs they don't like the sun baked ground. So the hoses came out this afternoon and gave the garden a good soaking. It has been very quiet for several days so I hope that will make a difference. Stay safe. Mike.

About Me

My photo
Evacuated during the second world war to a village in Yorkshire where I lived in the home of a good photographer for more than five years who taught me the basics and a great deal about nature. Well past retirement age I have been a wildlife photographer for more than 30 years. Red Kites have been my speciality for much of this period. I did spend several years snapping wheelchair athletes and organizing the British Road Race Championship. In the year 2000 I was awarded a distinction by the Royal Photographic Society for my portfolio on wheelchair athletes. Most of my pics are digital, using Sony cameras and Sigma lenses. I used to spend many weeks each year with friends in Wales which is close to the Elan Valleys where I got many of my raptor pics. I now get these pictures more closely to home, specially red kites and peregrines. I support my pension by selling my pics, cards, coasters, fridge magnets and key rings etc. at craft fairs, something I wish I had done much earlier in life. I give illustrated talks to clubs and societies on wildlife and other branches of photography that I have been involved in.
