How things change

This picture of the fox was taken outside my front door just after midnight. As you can see the image is quite good showing plenty of detail. Jacque is still up watching TV in the living room.
This shot of the badger was taken an hour or so later after we had gone to bed. It had become misty, the security lights were working normally, yet the quality of the picture is much reduced. I wish the badger would call earlier then perhaps I can get a better picture.

We are going to have a family ?

This is what I have been waiting for Juniors young lady to show up for some food. This she did last night proudly showed off in front of my camera. She was not a bit alarmed by my presence and calmly xollected some biscuits and strolled of onto the night. I had for some time suspected it but I think this photo confirms it.

My animals are friends

I beleive animals are a lot more intelligent than we give them credit for. I learned this from a man many years ago. He used to take a fox for a walk on a lead . I was very young at the time and learned that he had rescued it from a hunt where its parents had been killed. He had taken it home and brought it up with a couple of dogs where it had learned the ways of man. It behaved just like a dog.
This cat has a home a few yards away from my garden and the cat is often around when Junior calls. So they have got to know each other and as you can see its not that they tolerate each other they really are friends.

Juniors grown up

Junior has been comming to my garden for more than three years now. He first came with his mum and dad but they have now gone and he has a lady friend who often visits with him. I haven't seen her for a couple of weeks, at this time of the year she may have something else to keep her busy. Junior when he visits collects mouthfuls of biscuits and goes off and comes back in a while and sits down and tucks into whats left.

He is always alert, although he seems to get on well with the other animals.
In this picture you can see the eyes of next doors cat glowing in the background.

About Me

My photo
Evacuated during the second world war to a village in Yorkshire where I lived in the home of a good photographer for more than five years who taught me the basics and a great deal about nature. Well past retirement age I have been a wildlife photographer for more than 30 years. Red Kites have been my speciality for much of this period. I did spend several years snapping wheelchair athletes and organizing the British Road Race Championship. In the year 2000 I was awarded a distinction by the Royal Photographic Society for my portfolio on wheelchair athletes. Most of my pics are digital, using Sony cameras and Sigma lenses. I used to spend many weeks each year with friends in Wales which is close to the Elan Valleys where I got many of my raptor pics. I now get these pictures more closely to home, specially red kites and peregrines. I support my pension by selling my pics, cards, coasters, fridge magnets and key rings etc. at craft fairs, something I wish I had done much earlier in life. I give illustrated talks to clubs and societies on wildlife and other branches of photography that I have been involved in.
