My animals are friends

I beleive animals are a lot more intelligent than we give them credit for. I learned this from a man many years ago. He used to take a fox for a walk on a lead . I was very young at the time and learned that he had rescued it from a hunt where its parents had been killed. He had taken it home and brought it up with a couple of dogs where it had learned the ways of man. It behaved just like a dog.
This cat has a home a few yards away from my garden and the cat is often around when Junior calls. So they have got to know each other and as you can see its not that they tolerate each other they really are friends.

  1. It's great to see this kind of interaction, Mike. Animals have little to learn from their allegedly superior human cousins, other than Destruction 101. We are a disgrace. All the best, David.

  2. In total agreement David, world leaders can learn from animals. This is not the first time, Junior has other cat friends, hedgehog and badger as well. Take care,
    Mike.

  3. Such heart-warming images, Mike. There's something wonderful about different species becoming companionable. Perhaps we can persuade Putin to try and befriend a Crocodile. Stay safe - - - Richard

  4. Hi Mike
now I had to smile, I'm still writing and I can already see how your animal family is becoming friends, so it should also be a great thing with humans... something like that should be possible... the animals show us how, great pictures
    Greetings Frank

About Me

My photo
Evacuated during the second world war to a village in Yorkshire where I lived in the home of a good photographer for more than five years who taught me the basics and a great deal about nature. Well past retirement age I have been a wildlife photographer for more than 30 years. Red Kites have been my speciality for much of this period. I did spend several years snapping wheelchair athletes and organizing the British Road Race Championship. In the year 2000 I was awarded a distinction by the Royal Photographic Society for my portfolio on wheelchair athletes. Most of my pics are digital, using Sony cameras and Sigma lenses. I used to spend many weeks each year with friends in Wales which is close to the Elan Valleys where I got many of my raptor pics. I now get these pictures more closely to home, specially red kites and peregrines. I support my pension by selling my pics, cards, coasters, fridge magnets and key rings etc. at craft fairs, something I wish I had done much earlier in life. I give illustrated talks to clubs and societies on wildlife and other branches of photography that I have been involved in.
