As I was getting ready for bed last night the security light outside my window came on. It was placed there to tell me if any animals were in the garden. I grabbed my camera and quickly set it up for night photography switched the light off and drew the curtains and this is what I saw. I expected it to dash off but to my surprise it just carried on sniffing around.
It did glance up at me so it knew I was there. It spent about 10 minutes munching some biscuits that I had left, had a drink of water and ambled off.
The photo's could be better but because of the angle shooting through double glazing I could not get the images sharp but I am pleased with the result. I shall be ready for it tonight.
What a visitor Mike. You did well getting some shots of it. Well done.
ReplyDeleteHello Ken, Not seen much of you lately, keeping well I hope. My age limits my movement so I do what I can in my garden. I get some lovely animals drop in for supper. Stay well.

The pictures are a bonus, Mike. The real joy is in having this delightful animal visit your garden - The Attwood Fox and Badger Centre! You must be thrilled that these creatures feel so confident around you. All the best, David
ReplyDeleteHi David, I am delighted that animals call for supper and lots of people in my village love it too. Take care.

I'm dilighted to hear that you are still being visited by a Badger, Mike. That's a cunning use of a security light, and it's good to know it that does not upset the wildlife.
ReplyDeleteI'd be interested to know what sort of biscuits you are putting down for the Foxes and Badgers. If I put down cat bisuits, they soon get scoffed - by cats!
Take good care and stay safe - - - Richard
Hi Richard, The animals have got used to the lights and don't take any notice of them. I put down a variety of dog bicuits and as a treat a few grapes which they all seem to like. Bonio treats are a good one. the cats here leave them alone.

Hello Mike,:=) Richards comment made me smile, because, the biscuits Paula has been putting down for foxes, we discovered are being eaten by a stray black cat.:=) You are so lucky that your visitors are not cats, but these beautiful badgers, and they don't seem to mind you watching them, you are forming a bond that is very special.
ReplyDeleteAll the best, and take care.
Hello Sonjia, A fox has a much bigger jaw than a cat so put down a tough biscuit one that is not easily chewed. My neighbour has cats and they stay away. Good luck.

That is something to look forward to Frank. I scatter the food a little so that they are not treading on one anothers toes. I will just have to keep my fingers crossed on that one. Take care.

You must be chuffed Mike. How wonderful to have badgers in your garden. Best keep it fairly quiet though!
ReplyDeleteHi Phil, I am more than chuffed, I am over the moon. They are so used to me they no longer run away they just sit and look at me. Take care.
