I am trying to make my animal pictures more interesting. I am feeding them in different parts of the garden to get better backgrounds. This is junior having a look round.
After a feed he settles down for his rest. I like the position he chose mimmicing the bird bath with a twisted body shape. The badger also called but he moved around a lot and spoiled his pictures. Still, I have set it all up again so we will see what tonight brings.

About Me
- Mike Attwood
- Evacuated during the second world war to a village in Yorkshire where I lived in the home of a good photographer for more than five years who taught me the basics and a great deal about nature. Well past retirement age I have been a wildlife photographer for more than 30 years. Red Kites have been my speciality for much of this period. I did spend several years snapping wheelchair athletes and organizing the British Road Race Championship. In the year 2000 I was awarded a distinction by the Royal Photographic Society for my portfolio on wheelchair athletes. Most of my pics are digital, using Sony cameras and Sigma lenses. I used to spend many weeks each year with friends in Wales which is close to the Elan Valleys where I got many of my raptor pics. I now get these pictures more closely to home, specially red kites and peregrines. I support my pension by selling my pics, cards, coasters, fridge magnets and key rings etc. at craft fairs, something I wish I had done much earlier in life. I give illustrated talks to clubs and societies on wildlife and other branches of photography that I have been involved in.
Hi Mike,
ReplyDeleteJunior is watching the little porcelain owl in the background... maybe he's afraid for his cookies...;-))
Greetings Frank
He has seen it before Frank, but I can see what you mean.

It's good to see that you are still getting delightfui images from your visiting Foxes, Mike. I think that Frank's comment is wonderful! Best wishes - stay safe - - - Richard
ReplyDeleteI am thrilled that I have got my animal visitors to my garden.
DeleteI am not as fir as I used to be and in this weather its nice to sit indoors in the warm and see these animals so close. The eyes of the owl light up if you get too close so perhaps Junior knows this. Take care Richard.
Mike.
What a pleasure to have these ongoing visits, Mike. If I had nightly visits from a fox or two I would be the happiest guy in town! All the best, David.
ReplyDeleteHello David, Do what I did, put a few dog biscuits in the same place each night and soon a fox will find them and it will soon become a regular. Take care.

My pleasure, take care.

Hello Mike,:=)
ReplyDeleteYour fox looks right at home, curled up in a cosy position. It does appear to be watching the Owl but there again, he could have his eyes closed having a nap. Shame about the badger images, but it will be back.
Keep warm, and take care, and many thanks for sharing these rare glimpses of your night time visitors.
Hello Sonjia, My fox is at home or at least he thinks so. The owls eyes light up when movement is detected he is probably waiting for that. The badger always calls but usually after I have gone to bed. Thankyou for the kind words. Take care.
