Latest member of the family.

 This is the latest edition to the fox family. It has settled in nicely and is happy to come for food on its own. It has made several visits and does not mind the camera.

  1. Lovely to see and follow all your friends in your garden! It must be very joyful to have all those foxes (and others) to follow Mike.
    Best wishes

    1. Hello Lasse, I'm glad you all like my foxes. They are the most underrated creature in this country. I met a farmer when I was about 6 years old and taught me that foxes controlled the rats and mice on his farm and he fed them as a reward. I saw rats when I moved here more than ten years ago and since I started feeding the foxes the rats and mice have not been seen. Thankyou,
      Mike.

  2. Hello Mike :=)
    What a gorgeous little creature. I am surprised that the pup comes on it's own, but the adult foxes must have taught it that it's a safe place.
    Nice capture Mike.:=)

    1. Hello Sonjia, Everybody loves my foxes. They feel so confident in my garden they even lay down for a rest behind the hedge while people walk past. Take care.
      Mike.

  3. How absolutely wonderful, Mike! The cub is as cute as they come, and it is testament to your care for them that it obviously feels safe.

    With my very best wishes - - - Richard

    1. Hello Richard, I have been close to foxes all my 85years but never had any sort of relationship as I have with this family. I have dogs living all around me which doesn't bother them nor bother the dogs. Take care,
      Mike.

About Me

My photo
Evacuated during the second world war to a village in Yorkshire where I lived in the home of a good photographer for more than five years who taught me the basics and a great deal about nature. Well past retirement age I have been a wildlife photographer for more than 30 years. Red Kites have been my speciality for much of this period. I did spend several years snapping wheelchair athletes and organizing the British Road Race Championship. In the year 2000 I was awarded a distinction by the Royal Photographic Society for my portfolio on wheelchair athletes. Most of my pics are digital, using Sony cameras and Sigma lenses. I used to spend many weeks each year with friends in Wales which is close to the Elan Valleys where I got many of my raptor pics. I now get these pictures more closely to home, specially red kites and peregrines. I support my pension by selling my pics, cards, coasters, fridge magnets and key rings etc. at craft fairs, something I wish I had done much earlier in life. I give illustrated talks to clubs and societies on wildlife and other branches of photography that I have been involved in.
