I am shortly to celebrate my 86 birthday and having friends like these visit me every night makes me feel younger. Often when I put the food out they are waiting outside my bedroom window. I talk to them and they just look at me and carry on.
This one looking at the camera when it arrived I said 'hello where have you been and it looked at me and gave me a little grunt 'hello'. I open the window now and it doesn't seem to bother them.
This is the one I said hello to and as you can see it tucked into its supper just 1metre away from me.
I love my foxey friends.

About Me
- Mike Attwood
- Evacuated during the second world war to a village in Yorkshire where I lived in the home of a good photographer for more than five years who taught me the basics and a great deal about nature. Well past retirement age I have been a wildlife photographer for more than 30 years. Red Kites have been my speciality for much of this period. I did spend several years snapping wheelchair athletes and organizing the British Road Race Championship. In the year 2000 I was awarded a distinction by the Royal Photographic Society for my portfolio on wheelchair athletes. Most of my pics are digital, using Sony cameras and Sigma lenses. I used to spend many weeks each year with friends in Wales which is close to the Elan Valleys where I got many of my raptor pics. I now get these pictures more closely to home, specially red kites and peregrines. I support my pension by selling my pics, cards, coasters, fridge magnets and key rings etc. at craft fairs, something I wish I had done much earlier in life. I give illustrated talks to clubs and societies on wildlife and other branches of photography that I have been involved in.
Happy birthday, Mike. You have great friends to keep you company.
ReplyDeleteThey are wonderful friends David. They are outside now feeding with a hedgehog for company. They get on well together. Pictures tomorrow. Take care, Mike.

Greetings Frank
Thankyou Frank. I wish I could invite you all over to see them, but it might be too much.

Opening the window and saying hello to foxy pals is so wonderful. Even better when they have obviously come to trust you. I hope you will be giving them a slice of your birthday cake or better still, making a special one for them?
ReplyDeleteI am so proud to have wild animals trust me. I have found a lovely dog biscuit that the foxes love so they will get a special meal on my birthday. Take care, Mike.
