This barn owl was around quite a bit at the beginning of the year but was chased off a lot by the young peregrines when they became airworthy.
Like the badger this fox was quite happy as long as I stayed in the car.
The bullfinch was photographed through my living room window. A rare visitor never to be seen again.
Great grey shrike, first sighting in my life, again photographed from the drivers seat in my car. Ten minutes later it had gone.
The peregrines were the highlight as far as I was concerned, always entertaining. Always around and doing something. This is one of the four youngsters bred this year just before he left to make his own way in the world. I never go anywhere without a camera.
Mike, I have enjoyed your Peregrine photos, and all your nature shots taken through your living room and car window this year. These all all stunning.:)
ReplyDeleteSonjia, It is the thing in life that keeps me going, I enjoy it so much and it is good to know it gives pleasure to others. Mike.
DeleteIt's amazing that the badger was so confiding. I think of them as very wary creatures. I am not sure that its disregard for humans is a good thing!
ReplyDeleteHi David, Badgers are intelligent animals and get used to people that they know and recognise. This badger along with his friends know that in this particular place they are safe. This place is on private ground with limited access. This they understand. I knew a wonderful man by the name of Gareth Morgan who looked after a sett for more than 30 years and he gave the badgers names which they knew and came when called. They reacted only to him and only came when he was there although many people visited the sett with him. He was knon as the Badgerman of Wales.
