It has been quiet for the past couple of nights due to a lot of fog. The camera would not work very well through the fog in fact I got nothing but shadows. Last night was better and I got these pictures. Firstly Junior turned up and tucked into the food and was joined a little later by his friend.
They are good pals and get on very well together. There is another fox that calls but is not liked by these two and is rarely seen
They were in and out of the garden for several hours. They were last recorded at 4.30am having arrived at 10.10pm so had spent most of the night here.

About Me
- Mike Attwood
- Evacuated during the second world war to a village in Yorkshire where I lived in the home of a good photographer for more than five years who taught me the basics and a great deal about nature. Well past retirement age I have been a wildlife photographer for more than 30 years. Red Kites have been my speciality for much of this period. I did spend several years snapping wheelchair athletes and organizing the British Road Race Championship. In the year 2000 I was awarded a distinction by the Royal Photographic Society for my portfolio on wheelchair athletes. Most of my pics are digital, using Sony cameras and Sigma lenses. I used to spend many weeks each year with friends in Wales which is close to the Elan Valleys where I got many of my raptor pics. I now get these pictures more closely to home, specially red kites and peregrines. I support my pension by selling my pics, cards, coasters, fridge magnets and key rings etc. at craft fairs, something I wish I had done much earlier in life. I give illustrated talks to clubs and societies on wildlife and other branches of photography that I have been involved in.
How wonderful, Mike. They obviously feel very relaxed and secure in your garden. I too find that, on cold but humid nights without any breeze, condensation can build up on the lenses of the trail cams and produce ghostly indistinct images.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes - stay safe - - - Richard
Its good for me to think that an animal can be happy because of my efforts. The following night the camera was perfect. Thankyou Richard.

I think you will need to rename your house "Chez Renard", Mike! It is quite wonderful that these creatures feel so at home with you. All the best. David
ReplyDeleteAn excellent idea David, It does sound a bit like a night club I don't want to give the wrong idea.

Thankyou Frank, Your support is welcome but I think it may upset my neighbours, all the noise late at night.

Hi Mike. Junior and his pal have obviously found a feeding spot where they feel safe and welcome. It's a great piece of work that you do for us all. I wish we had foxes in our garden.
