Routine change

Since we put the clocks back the fox has changed his routine. He usually called just after ten in the evening which suited me fine, I could get a few pictures before bed.
He has now changed his routine and rarely comes before two in the morning so I have reverted to my I/R camera's. This suits me because there are signs of a visiting badger.
So I am doing a bit of practice on the foxes so I can make a success of the badger when it calls.
In the meantime I will have to be content with Junior lazing about on the grass.

    1. Thankyou Frank,
I think a lot of the loyalty is attached to the quality of the biscuits I feed him with. Take care.

  2. You're getting some great results with your trail cams, Mike. I wonder who told Junior that the clocks had changed! I shall keep my fingers crossed for you that a Badger shows up soon. Best wishes - stay safe - - - Richard

    1. He is a very intelligent fox Richard and probably has a watch.
I am having lots of minor troubles at the moment from the switch to BT. Good job I have control over my camera's.

  3. Hello Mike, :=) Those cameras are what I need, and then I can see the images at my leisure. It's exciting to see "your" foxes so at ease in your garden. I also hope the Badger shows up.
    All the best.

    1. It is a pleasure getting up in the morning Sonjia and checking my camera's to see what happened during the night. The camera is a bit fiddley to get it set right but once you have mastered that they are great.

    1. That thought had entered my mind Richard but I have a tax inspector living next door so it might cause one or two problems. Cheers.

    1. I will just have to be patient Lasse. I have a lot of night fog lately which ruins my photography. Everything comes to those who wait.

About Me

My photo
Evacuated during the second world war to a village in Yorkshire where I lived in the home of a good photographer for more than five years who taught me the basics and a great deal about nature. Well past retirement age I have been a wildlife photographer for more than 30 years. Red Kites have been my speciality for much of this period. I did spend several years snapping wheelchair athletes and organizing the British Road Race Championship. In the year 2000 I was awarded a distinction by the Royal Photographic Society for my portfolio on wheelchair athletes. Most of my pics are digital, using Sony cameras and Sigma lenses. I used to spend many weeks each year with friends in Wales which is close to the Elan Valleys where I got many of my raptor pics. I now get these pictures more closely to home, specially red kites and peregrines. I support my pension by selling my pics, cards, coasters, fridge magnets and key rings etc. at craft fairs, something I wish I had done much earlier in life. I give illustrated talks to clubs and societies on wildlife and other branches of photography that I have been involved in.
