1st of the year

I know it is not a good picture but it is the first young fox to visit this year. the last fox to do so was the father of this one. So to me it is something special. The cameras are out and plenty of tastey biscuits are spread around hoping it calls again.

  1. I am sure you were excited to see the first youngster of the year, Mike. Now that he knows where he can get a tasty snack I am sure he will be back. Maybe his siblings too. Take good care. David

    1. I was over the moon David, Jacque has just had another operation a couple of days ago so once again I am stuck looking after her so to have the excitement of wildlife events in my garden which we both can enjoy is amazing. I am looking forward to lots more of better photo's.

  2. That's very special, Mike. I can fully understand your excitement. As these are intelligent creatures, I'm sure that it knows which side its bread is buttered on and will be back for more tasty treats at Restaurant Attwood.

    Stay safe - - - Richard

    1. It is special David, I seem to have formed a kind of relationship with these animals. I have fed the hedgehogs by hand so I feel that it may happen with the foxes one day

  3. A veces no hace falta una buena foto para ver que el momento es especial. Me da mucha envidia ver a tus vecinos del jardín!!! Un fuerte abrazo desde el norte de España.

About Me

My photo
Evacuated during the second world war to a village in Yorkshire where I lived in the home of a good photographer for more than five years who taught me the basics and a great deal about nature. Well past retirement age I have been a wildlife photographer for more than 30 years. Red Kites have been my speciality for much of this period. I did spend several years snapping wheelchair athletes and organizing the British Road Race Championship. In the year 2000 I was awarded a distinction by the Royal Photographic Society for my portfolio on wheelchair athletes. Most of my pics are digital, using Sony cameras and Sigma lenses. I used to spend many weeks each year with friends in Wales which is close to the Elan Valleys where I got many of my raptor pics. I now get these pictures more closely to home, specially red kites and peregrines. I support my pension by selling my pics, cards, coasters, fridge magnets and key rings etc. at craft fairs, something I wish I had done much earlier in life. I give illustrated talks to clubs and societies on wildlife and other branches of photography that I have been involved in.
