Midnight caller

I know you have seen him before but he is getting so friendly and reliable and is a great comfort for me. I now have to use a walking stick which is a great handicap when using my camera. So to sit in my room and have this creature visit is something special. This picture was taken at about 0100hrs this morning and at my age I prefer to be nice and snug indoors.

    1. It sure is David, but he never returns the compliment by inviting me round to his place. Take care,

  3. Wonderful! Maybe, as the nights get longer he'll be a bit more accommodating and come earlier, Mike ?! Stay safe - - - Richard

    1. Hi Frank, It is only one fox that is so trusting, the others are only happy when he's there. When he is not they only stay for a few seconds then run off. Take care.
      Mike.

  5. Hello Mike, You and I are in a similar situation, I also use a stick to help me walk, and I can't walk very far. Sitting in my bedroom I probably see more birds than I would see in the trees.

The little fox does look at home in your garden. Its both a treat for you, and us in blogland. Paula My DIL and I, had a stakeout some nights ago, but without success, I took a bottle of gin and a couple of tonics to keep us warm,:=) It might be better early morning when we try again.

    1. Hello Sonjia, If you have a suitable garden that would be a much better solution. I had food in my gardev for about a month before a fox found it and then about a week later I had three foxes and five hedgehogs started comming on a regular basis. Good luck and take care.
      Mike.

  7. Hi Mike, just came over to say how pleased I am that the Local Authorities where you live, will do something about the lack of wild life.I'm not sure what they can do, but at least they have acknowledged it.

About Me

My photo
Evacuated during the second world war to a village in Yorkshire where I lived in the home of a good photographer for more than five years who taught me the basics and a great deal about nature. Well past retirement age I have been a wildlife photographer for more than 30 years. Red Kites have been my speciality for much of this period. I did spend several years snapping wheelchair athletes and organizing the British Road Race Championship. In the year 2000 I was awarded a distinction by the Royal Photographic Society for my portfolio on wheelchair athletes. Most of my pics are digital, using Sony cameras and Sigma lenses. I used to spend many weeks each year with friends in Wales which is close to the Elan Valleys where I got many of my raptor pics. I now get these pictures more closely to home, specially red kites and peregrines. I support my pension by selling my pics, cards, coasters, fridge magnets and key rings etc. at craft fairs, something I wish I had done much earlier in life. I give illustrated talks to clubs and societies on wildlife and other branches of photography that I have been involved in.
